It is natural that when pregnancy does not occur spontaneously, couples start a journey through in-vitro fertilization and microinjection treatments with a hope to be assisted by advanced technology. However, disappointment is much if no result is obtained from such treatment.
First of all, you should remember that although a lot of experience and improvements with reproductive technologies, almost half of IVF trials do not result in a successful pregnancy. Chance of each couple is certainly specific for them. Some will obtain good results eventually if they have more embryos frozen during ivf treatment. Because it is known that couples who are not at advanced age have a chance to obtain pregnancy up to 85-90 % at the end of first 3 procedures. However, if age of the lady is over 40 years, embryos may be obtained with difficulty despite using high dose drugs. That means the process is sometimes difficult. It should be said first that couples with high pregnancy rate must continue their treatments.

The first application of in-vitro fertilization usually provides important information for further treatment of female and male problems. Kinds and doses of the drugs used, individual response of ovaries to these drugs, ratio of fertilization of eggs by sperm, embryo quality and count, easiness and difficulty of transfer and concentration of the couple with the treatment … all these information will be used for further trial(s). Strategy changes done according to the previous experience will absolutely increase the achievement rate.
You should assess some detailed subjects such as genetic researches, evaluation of immune system, uterus film, assessment of intrauterine structure by a camera, biopsy from intrauterine membrane, co-culture of intrauterine tissue, selection of sperms by additional techniques such as micro Fluidic Tunnel System or enlarging 6000 times with a special microscope for microinjection (IMSI), adding Embryo Glue substance during transfer and endometrial scratching if they are deemed necessary and offered by your physician.
Finally, we mostly see a flare-up effect on ovarian reserve due to hormones used. This effect usually lasts in two to three months. So, we suggest trying again in this two to three months’ period especially for the women with low number of eggs.
In summary, you should go on either with the previous centre or with another one… and you should know that couples who try without losing hope, will reach their desire and hold their babies at the end.
